Question 9: What are you going to create for after your retreat so that you can further monetize your event?

After a really intensive retreat it’s powerful to be able to have a follow-up program at-the-ready for your participants. That way they have your support while integrating all they’ve learned and experienced at your event.

In addition, the extra income from the post-event program can be quite significant and be as much, if not more than what you end up netting from your retreat! That’s why I always recommend that your retreats are not one-off events – and that you offer your clients a way to continue working with once the trip is done.

However, I’m not thrilled in general with the idea of using a retreat, even if it’s only a few days, as a loss-leader. In other words not making anything beyond covering your expenses because you know you are going to up-sell your clients to your high-end program. That just doesn’t feel right to me as I expressed in our last video when I was chatting about valuing yourself.

So I hope you’ve enjoyed having fun with this worksheet, and perhaps it’s stirred your imagination and made you think about what kind of retreat YOU can create for your clients! Most importantly – I want you to know that you can do this – and I want to encourage you to explore destination retreats as an amazing way of combining traveling the world with expanding your business.
