The problems being addressed on my Women’s Retreat is how to overcome burnout, problems with balance & brokenness for women leaders in ministry. Well I have got my work cut out for me. But I am in prime position to begin the educating.

My retreat is for songwriters of all experience levels. It is designed to open up the channels of creativity by putting the participant in a new uplifting environment. The real life problem we can solve is stagnant or tentative writing by introducing new rhythms and cultural differences in Mexico. This will trigger new song ideas and spice up the writing. We are also offering a low cost professional music video production as an add on. This is for people who have great songs that will come to life even bigger with a video. The cost of a professional video in the USA is high. We have teamed up with a Mexico production company that can off a great quality video at a very low price.

I am nervous about it. With all the negative press about Mexico I worry that people will think it is not safe. The truth is the crime element is way overblown. This town in Mexico is peaceful and full of art and culture.i am not sure how to mitigate the the sensational media .

By sharing real life stories they can relate to and others that help them see themselves participating in or benefiting from the answer.

Real life stories are very helpful – you still have to educate your audience to realize that your retreat is the solution to their problems. 🙂

Thanks Sheri! The question of how can I amp up my marketing to clients would be to get people thinking and asking themselves: can I feel and look better? Are my choices giving me the life I dream of? My wellness coaching supports those looking to detoxify their world to improve their bodies systems.

Yes exactly – and that is part of your education based marketing!

Finding Key Question to begin conversation – whether it’s “would you like to accomplish more with less effort?” “At the end of the day do you rate your satisfaction at a 10 or a 2?” “Have you ever made a vision board?” “Do you feel stuck in any part of your life?” “Do you ever wonder why an experience you say you don’t want keeps showing up?” And then give an example of the solution – or how the solution feels…i.e. It is an awesome experience to see things on your vision board come true. – There are many effective ways to clear the blocks that hold us back. – What if I told you 3 things which you can do each day to increase your feeling of peace? Your feeling of satisfaction? Your lust for life? etc. etc. Then go on to give the punch line of how your experiential retreat will solve the question and feel good.

Asking qualifying questions are always a good way to start – as long as those questions are regarding the top reasons someone would want to come on your retreat. Take your time to get clarity on this – it is well worth it Mimi!

I need to identify a problem that exists and use my webpage to educate on that problem and how that problem can be solved. Then I have to invite my audience to solve it.

I am looking into addressing low self-esteem.

Our retreat in Scotland is to help women (basically 30 and all the way up) who feel stuck in their lives, who’ve most likely lost focus on their own needs and desires because they’ve been overgiving or just plain overwhelmed. We will coach them in determining and creating the meaningful changes they want to experience – and how to make it last at home. From our website:

Wondering if this retreat is for you?

THIS RETREAT IS FOR YOU IF:

You want to change one or more areas of your life but you’re feeling stuck.
You’re unhappy, unsatisfied, and have fallen into a pattern of ignoring your own needs.
You know something needs to change but have no idea where to start.
Maybe you know what you don’t want, but aren’t exactly sure what you do.
You want to change your life and now feels like a really good time to start.
You just need some guidance to get started, to get unstuck from what keeps you from moving forward and living the life of your dreams.

Sheri, I love your hair btw!

The more specific you can get Darby about what you want to help folks change – the better it will go. These are appropriate questions – but VERY vague. That is the issue with most folks when marketing – we don’t get specific enough and so the words don’t connect with the ideal client.
PS: Thanks for the hair kudos! <3

Hi, I’m hosting a Yoga Nidra Day Retreat for Spring Equinox. I separated the who this retreat is for into questions for the mind, emotional self and the mind (mental) body. Then I gave the benefits they will feel physically, emotionally and mentally from each part of the schedule.
    Is that ok?

    • Sheri Rosenthal

Dionne one day is pretty short as a retreat – but I am sure it will be a lovely respite for folks. When you have a longer retreat – people can really sink into the experience and that way you can start adding in deeply experiential activities. We’ll be talking more about this on the webinar!

I did some drill down work as I brainstormed about why someone would want to come on my retreat and came up with things I hadn’t thought about before.

?To reduce stress at home and work.
?To feel happier, more loved and have more fun in life and work.
    ?To be more successful
?Yo better handle challenges and triggers

The education piece could be about:

?How to know when your stressed and when your life is out of balance
    ?Is your life fun?
?How do you feel when things are going well?…like the other shote is going to drop? Or do you welcome challenged and triggers (because they are in fact gifts).

This was a really helpful exercise!

Sonia, People with anxiety are rajasic, so need to start with high level activities and then bring it down to help them find homeostasis and get into a Sattvic state. Only After anxiety is brought down via asana (ie with long holds) and appropriate pranayama you can work with restorative, guided meditation, and nidra.

This has been so helpful! I have two branches of my business, one is about Romance, Style, and Femininity….hence my excitement when you talked about Paris! The other half of me is all about art and I keep on forgetting about the TREMENDOUS impact art has had on me. The way you talked about a Creativity Retreat and educating my audience about it is exactly the experience I’ve had with my art and also the experience I would like to share in a retreat. Thank you so much!!!

Oh…and I definitely need to write more to educate and inspire my tribe.

I love the idea of traveling to beautiful places for a long retreat but to build up my confidence I’m thinking of starting with a small (10 people or less) Day Retreat as I live by a beautiful lake, a mountain, endless woods and I’m creating an art workshop in the basement. I’ll offer yoga, meditation, toning, pranayama, swimming and then we will do some sharing and exercises. The Afternoon will be for creating the Vision Board and communing with nature. I’m in the process of getting the space ready and then need to find people to come but wondering if I should be doing something now to start advertising and draw potential clients. Also wondering about insurance and how to set it all up. It’s overwhelming right now. I’m wondering if I need to get my coaching certificate first but they are all so expensive.

    Reply
    • Sheri Rosenthal

Andrea you do not need a coaching certificate – but you do need to be properly trained regarding planning, pricing and promoting a retreat if you want it to fill. That more than anything is important for one’s success. You can so this angel! 🙂

I can see I have some serious work ahead of me. 🙂
I will have to get myself very clear with my mission statement. Then from there using social media platforms, draw folks in with leading questions they can identify with, to help them realize the real issue they are being challenged with. Then educate them with solutions and more thought provoking questions, which I promise (and deliver) at the retreat.

    Reply
    • Sheri Rosenthal

Jennifer realizing what you know and don’t know is the first step – that way you can properly address this. Your business has a promise too and getting clear on that is important as well as knowing the promise of your retreat – or any event or program for that matter that you create.
