A Different Kind of Retreat Venue in North Carolina! - Retreat Coaching | Retreat Training | Retreat Programs | Wanderlust Entrepreneur | Sheri Rosenthal

Sometimes you want a retreat venue that isn’t a cold-feeling big hotel, and at the same time, you might not want your typical boring retreat center either!

Fortunately for us, there are SOOOOO many new and creative venue options that feature cool vibes and are sure to make your retreat stand out and sell out!

One of those options is Lark Hotels. Although they’re a family of different brands (Lark, Awol, Bluebird, Blind Tiger, and Lark Independant) – all their properties are charming, edgy, and definitely worth checking out.

Over the years they’ve been slowly amassing small bed and breakfast type historic buildings and turning them into creative outposts. Many of them are on the east coast of the USA, but they do have a couple in California in Carmel.

One of the cutest ones (that’s actually near my home) is the Blind Tiger Asheville in NC. Each of their 14 rooms are TOTALLY different, super cool, and resonably priced (from $240-$400 depending on the room).

The idea is that you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s place; one who’s an insider ready to hook you up with the best places to eat and the hippest things to do.

If you’re not familiar, Asheville is in the Blue Ridge mountains in North Carolina and there are TONS of things to do here. You can go hiking (there are tons of trails), horseback riding, or even rock climbing in Chimney Rock Park.

Plus, you can avail yourself of the vibrant arts scene, visit the Biltmore, dive into all the cool boutiques, as well as the top-notch restaurants.

In fact, Chai Pani, won the 2022 James Beard Award Outstanding Restaurant – and there are plenty of places that are just as awesome. If you’re into craft beers (is anyone running craft beer retreats?) – this could be the perfect place for you!

They have some fun amenties which I thought were thoughtful too:

  • Complimentary grab-and-go breakfast where guests are welcome to help themselves every morning
  • Open Pantry Access for locally sourced snacks and beverages (including espresso, tea, and homemade snacks)
  • Free high-speed WiFi
  • Picnic blanket and baskets to borrow for your own adventure
  • Waffle kimono robes
  • Room essentials, such as wine glasses, cork screws, irons, hairdryers, and more
  • Personalized concierge services

I recommend you check out this hotel line – even if you don’t run a retreat here – you might find these venues work well for a small mastermind group or even a one-on-one retreat.

Let me know if you’ve stayed in any of their properties and if you enjoyed it. I’m always on the lookout for new and inspired venues!

Happy travels!
